An initiative of which the Academy is particularly proud is its investment in the future through two Bursary Funds at the University. The Academy established a bursary fund at the School of Continuing Studies in 2007. Since that time it has contributed $8,000. The Academy has also invested some $70,000 through the years at Victoria University.

Both are designed to assist mature students to continue their studies at University. These awards have helped the recipients in a variety of significant ways, enabling them to cover tuition fees and to cope with increased living costs. A description of current recipients’ situations appears each year in an issue of the Academy Newsletter.

Academy members and friends may contribute to these bursary funds in his way:

School of Continuing Studies

            Write out a cheque payable to U of T School of Continuing Studies and in
            the memo section of the cheque, write “for Academy for Lifelong Learning
            Bursary Fund”. Send the cheque to:

Victoria University

Write out a cheque payable to Victoria University and in the memo section of
the cheque, write “for Academy for Lifelong Learning Bursary Fund”. Send the cheque to:
